What is Dana?
Dana means generosity—selfless giving that does not expect anything in return. Giving dana to this sangha (community) supports their activities and enables them to live a monastic life. Here are several ways to support monastics:
- 1. Offer a prepared meal or groceries for the pantry.
- 2. Offer medicine (for example vitamins).
- 3. Monetary donations to be used for monthly expenses such as utilities, and phone etc.
- 4. Arrange to visit the monastery for retreat time and share in the Buddha's teaching.
